JUST TALK ABOUT HOLDERLIN OR BECKETT ONCE. JUST ONCE. NO YEATS. NO JOYCE. NO ‘CLASSICS’. TELL ME ABOUT NOVALIS AND DOSTOEVSKY. it’s okay if they’re classix doeI NEVER talk about Yeats! I don’t like Yeats! I like Beckett and Joyce and then all the poets I always talk about
COME ON YOU KNOW ME BETTER THAN THAT
You don’t like Yeats? But you do like Holderlin?
the list of things you don’t like is staggeringly small and that offends me
you need to be a little more selective and a little worse of a writer so I don’t have anxiety
Actually I got into an argument with my girlfriend and room-mate about this, I was being too inclusive about genre or whatever, but it all worked out, it was a fun time in the end.
I still don’t really like Badiou that much. I don’t like some of Sam Peckinpah either. I don’t like Tertullian and I don’t like Permit Me Voyage, although I like Night of the Hunter and Let Us Now Praise Famous Men and all his movie essays. I like Assumption of the Rogues and Rascals less than By Grand Central Station I Sat Down and Wept. If you knew me as an editor you would know there is a lot of poetry I don’t like too. I really really hate a few of those CGI Disney cartoons (the one with toys, the one with super-heroes). Black Narcissus isn’t as good as I thought it would be.
Actually I guess I kind of like Tertullian. I don’t like watching Louie with other people but I do like watching Louie by myself.
There are probably some other things I don’t like, that aren’t ingredients or bands.
mostly I like you
