Top 10 Poetry Collections of 2011

Typed this up really quick while having breakfast. I bet I’ve missed some good ones, so, please please respond with your own lists if you’d like. (I’m including new translations but not reissues— otherwise this would be a pretty Bruce Boone-centric list, due to both Century of Clouds and The Truth About Ted hitting the stands again). I’d like to write some more about each of these, but I’ve got to catch a bus in like half an hour.

1. Things Come On, Joseph Harrington

2. You and Three Others Are Approaching a Lake, Anna Moschovakis

3. Schizophrene, Bhanu Kapil

4. Tamura Ryuichi: On the Life and Works of a 20th Century Master, ed. Takako Lente & Wayne Miller

5. Culture of One, Alice Notley

6. Illuminations, Rimbaud, trans. John Ashbery

7. Life on Mars, Tracy K. Smith

8. ELEVATORS, Rena Rosenwasser
