hollowskin replied to your post: Veganism is more affordable then a meat based diet. Not all vegans buy the pricey gardein, or tofurky products. One cube of tofu, has more protein then a steak, and costs about $1. While a steak can cost an upwards of $10-$20. Yes, buying all the cool things can get rather expenisve, but not because it is a difficult lifestyle, but because most companies who manufature them don’t have the profit to produce them in bulk.
This is bullshit. I’m tired of having rich yuppies tell me that ‘even though you’re poor you should be ethical’ - do vegetables keep as long as boxed or canned food? No. Complete fucking moral pie-in-the-sky idealistic bullshit.BUT DON’T YOU KNOW YOU CAN GET TOFU FOR ONE DOLLAR?!?!?!
Really though I was vegan for several years and I ate more cheaply and felt more healthy than any other time in my life. It isn’t a perfect ideological practice, but who cares.
